Lahore woke up to a heavy downpour on Tuesday, but as the day progressed, the city gradually cleared up with some clouds dotting the sky.
Here’s the latest on the rain in Lahore: The Meteorological Office predicts that most districts in the province will experience dry weather. However, there’s a chance of light rain and thunderstorms in Lahore, Attock, Jhelum, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galliyat, Sialkot, Narowal, and Gujrat earlier in the day.
Temperature-wise, Lahore saw a dip to around 20°C amidst the rain. Humidity levels rose over 90 percent in the metropolis, while winds blew at a gentle 7km/h. The maximum UV Index stood at 4, indicating moderate levels of ultraviolet radiation, with visibility at approximately 16km.
Despite the rain, Lahore’s air quality remained at 70, which falls into the “very poor” category. The city’s air pollution levels have escalated, posing risks to sensitive groups. If you experience symptoms like difficulty breathing or throat irritation, it’s advised to limit outdoor activities.
In terms of weather patterns, a westerly wave currently hovers over the upper regions and is anticipated to move in a north/northeast direction within the next 12 hours. Another shallow westerly wave from the Persian Gulf is projected to approach central parts of Balochistan in the coming day.
For Tuesday, dry weather is predicted for most parts of the country. However, cloudy conditions with light rain and thunderstorms (and light snowfall in higher altitudes) are expected in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and neighboring areas.
