Monday’s weather in the province will be partly cloudy. However, rain with thunderstorms is expected in several areas including Lahore, Jhelum, Attock, Chakwal, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galliyat, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Khushab, Faisalabad, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Layyah, Multan, DG Khan, Noorpurthal, Bahawalpur, and Bahawalnagar. Additionally, isolated heavy falls and hailstorms are likely in the Pothohar region, Murree, Galiyat, M. B Din, Gujrat, and Hafizabad, according to the Met Office.
As for today’s temperatures in Lahore: Due to the rain, the temperature in Lahore dropped to around 20°C. The humidity levels in the city were recorded at over 80 percent, with winds blowing at 14km/h. The maximum UV Index was measured at 2, indicating low levels of UV radiation, with visibility around 3km.
Lahore’s Air Quality: Despite the rain, the air quality in the provincial capital was recorded at 82, categorizing it as ‘very poor’. Pollution levels have risen significantly, posing health risks for sensitive groups. It’s advisable to limit outdoor activities if experiencing symptoms such as difficulty in breathing or throat irritation.
Synoptic Situation: Moderate to heavy rainfall may lead to increased water flows in local streams and could potentially trigger landslides in vulnerable areas of Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, Mansehra, and Abbottabad from Sunday to Tuesday.
The region is currently influenced by a westerly wave, affecting the upper and central parts of the country. Expect partly cloudy conditions in most upper regions, with windstorms, rain, and thunderstorms anticipated in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, upper Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir. Additionally, snowfall is expected in higher altitudes, and isolated hailstorms might occur in plain areas during the evening and night. Heavy rainfall is also likely in isolated places. Dry weather, on the other hand, is expected in other parts of the country.
