WhatsApp is working on a new feature in its latest iOS update: an emergency login option using email.
“If your WhatsApp isn’t working because of no internet or other issues, there’s a new way to get in. First, make sure you have the latest WhatsApp on iPhone (version 23.24.70). Go to Settings, then tap on Account, and you’ll find an option for email login. Put in your email, and you’ll get a secure six-digit code to log in.

But remember, this is an extra way to log in, not a replacement for your phone number.
When you use your email to log in, it’s just for logging in. Your email is private.
In 2023, WhatsApp has added more security stuff, like Protect IP Address and passkeys. They’re also thinking about adding usernames on Android for more privacy. All of this is because the people at Meta want to make sure WhatsApp is super safe for everyone.”
