The caretaker government has made a significant decision to re-verify all mobile SIM cards across the country. Sources indicate that this process will utilize the Multi Finger Biometric Verification System.
This decision was reached during a meeting held in Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, attended by the caretaker chief minister of KP, high-ranking military officials, and other authorities.
As part of this move, approximately 80,624 mobile SIM cards were blocked, along with about 4 million others that were inactive.
Additionally, around 112,320 altered Afghan passports have been invalidated. In light of this, it was agreed that only one mobile SIM card will be allowed per passport.
This means that from now on, only one SIM card can be activated for each individual passport.
