In a remarkable achievement, a couple from Lahore, the capital of Punjab, Pakistan, has made history by becoming the first Pakistani pair to conquer Mount Manaslu, the world’s eighth-highest peak located in Nepal. Ahmed Uzair and Anum Uzair reached this milestone on Sunday, successfully ascending the towering 8,163-meter summit, accompanied by three skilled sherpas.
Karrar Haidri, Secretary of the Alpine Club of Pakistan, praised the couple for their extraordinary accomplishment. Renowned mountaineer Shehroze Kashif, who recently achieved the feat of reaching the true summit of Mount Manaslu, extended his heartfelt congratulations to the couple for their triumphant ascent.
He shared his enthusiasm on the social media platform X, saying, “Anum and Uzair, you did it. What a piece of news to wake up to! It’s truly an outstanding achievement.”
Ahmed Uzair is a practicing barrister, while his wife, Anam, is a forensic scientist. The couple is also proud parents of two children. This achievement not only highlights their personal dedication and determination but also brings pride to the entire nation.
