Sonya Hussyn, following in the footsteps of Sajal Aly, has chosen to address the recent Lux Style Awards event.
Despite receiving an invitation and a nomination, the actress decided not to attend the prestigious ceremony held in Karachi over the weekend.
During an appearance on Waseem Badami’s show ‘Har Lamha Purjosh’, Hussyn explained her absence, stating, “I didn’t attend the awards; actually, I couldn’t go, so I came here fully prepared.”
She went on to share that she generally refrains from attending award functions, expressing a personal preference against it. “I don’t know why, but I don’t like going to award shows. It seems pointless to me,” she remarked.
When asked about those who did attend, Sonya Hussyn commented, “Those who are going to the award shows must be receiving awards.” Responding to Waseem Badami, she added, “Yes, I think they must have been informed about receiving awards by the team.”
It’s worth noting that in 2021, Hussyn had criticized the LSA for overlooking her drama serial ‘Saraab’ in the nominations. Despite the grandeur of such events, many actors have voiced concerns about what they perceive as unfair award distribution.
