LAHORE – Renowned Pakistani showbiz star Mathira has spoken out about the controversies surrounding her leaked videos, offering insights into her experiences and the challenges she faced.
During an interview on a private TV show, Mathira addressed various aspects of her personal and professional life, including the viral videos that created a stir online. Reflecting on the 2021 incident, she revealed that explicit videos purported to be hers were edited and circulated by a man from Jhang, who sold them for an average price of Rs2,000, leading to their widespread dissemination.
Mathira expressed her frustration with social media platforms and pages that sensationalized her private videos as news. She emphasized that personal content should never be treated as a spectacle. Taking swift action, she reported the matter to Cyber Crime authorities, resulting in the identification and legal action against the perpetrator.
She further disclosed that the same individual had been selling explicit videos of other women. However, she was uncertain about the authenticity of those videos, questioning whether they were genuine or fabricated.
Acknowledging the emotional toll of such incidents, Mathira highlighted the difficulties faced by women in similar situations. She credited her resilience to the support of her family and friends, which helped her navigate the challenges. She noted that such experiences could severely impact a woman’s mental health and well-being, often leading to a downward spiral.
Recently, Mathira was again embroiled in controversy when private videos alleged to be hers went viral on social media. She dismissed these as deepfake videos created using AI technology, pointing out discrepancies such as the absence of tattoos visible on her body in real life.
Mathira condemned the misuse of technology to fabricate and spread malicious content, urging stricter measures to combat such digital harassment and protect individuals from similar violations.
