Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, has decided not to accompany her husband, Prince William, to the annual Earthshot Prize Awards in Singapore, according to confirmation from Kensington Palace.
After weeks of speculation about Kate’s attendance, the palace has clarified that she will not be present at the ceremony, which is now in its third year.
A spokesperson for Prince William stated, “The prince is eagerly anticipating his time in Singapore. He aims to use this opportunity in Southeast Asia to further emphasize the importance of the Earthshot winners and finalists’ solutions to some of the most pressing global environmental challenges.”
During his four-day visit to Singapore, the future king will engage with local organizations to gain insights into their efforts towards environmental protection and restoration.
In addition to the Earthshot Prize Awards, Prince William will also participate in the United for Wildlife global summit.
The awards ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday, November 7.
Earlier this month, Kate Middleton revealed the reason behind her decision to forgo Prince William’s Earthshot Prize awards in Singapore. She explained that she has been helping her eldest son, Prince George, with his math revision in preparation for upcoming exams, acknowledging the challenges posed by the subject.
