American bodybuilder Derek Lunsford emerged victorious in the Mr. Olympia 2023 competition held at the Orange County Center in Orlando, Florida, securing a substantial prize of $400,000.
Hadi Choopan claimed the second position and received a prize of $150,000, while Samson Dauda, who finished third, was awarded $100,000. Brandon Curry earned the fourth spot and received $40,000, and Andrew Jacked secured the fifth place, walking away with $35,000.

In addition to the top five contenders, the competition showcased several other impressive athletes, including Hunter Labrada in sixth place and Michal Krizo with a notable seventh-place finish.
Derek Lunsford, 30 years old, made his mark in the bodybuilding world with this victory, marking his second attempt at the championship. His dedication to intense physical training began at a young age, transitioning from being a soccer player to pursuing a career in bodybuilding. Lunsford made his bodybuilding debut at 22 and achieved success in the 2015 NPC Indianapolis Championships in the Men’s Open Welterweight division. He continued to excel, winning the 2015 and 2016 NPC Junior Nationals.
In addition to his Mr. Olympia triumph, Derek Lunsford was also honored with the 2023 People’s Olympia Champ award.
