DUBAI – On Tuesday, United Arab Emirates saw the highest recorded rainfall, as all previous records were shattered, and the record downpour also disrupted flight operations.
The National Center of Meteorology said that the heavy rainfall in the UAE in the past day is very unusual, and more rain is expected soon.
Because of lots of rain, Emirates and other airlines stopped letting people check in for flights from Dubai until midnight on Wednesday. Flooding has made it hard for people to get to Dubai Airport, which is usually very busy.
Dubai Flights Status Check
Dubai International Airport also advised travelers not to go to the airport unless absolutely necessary.
Flydubai wants passengers to check if their flights are still on before going to Dubai International Airport. They’ve changed their policy on canceling flights and started some flights again on Wednesday. More flights will start from Terminal 2 at 8 pm and from Terminal 3 after midnight.
