Inzamam ul Haq, the Chief Selector of the Pakistan cricket team, announced his resignation amidst the World Cup 2023, following allegations that he had ties to a player management company.
Inzamam stated, “People speak without research. Questions were raised on me so I decided that it was better I resign,” as reported by Geo News.

According to Geo News reporter Sohail Imran, there is a player management company registered with the PCB, in which Inzamam is reportedly a partner. This company also includes other notable players like Mohammad Rizwan (who is also a partner) and Babar Azam. This association led to concerns about the chief selector’s involvement in a company that secures contracts for players.
This development comes amidst the Pakistan team’s challenging performance in the World Cup in India, drawing criticism. Additionally, the PCB head’s leakage of skipper Babar Azam’s private conversation with a top board official has added to the controversy.
In his statement, Inzamam, who took on the role in August, emphasized that he would be open to an investigation if initiated by the cricket board. He clarified, “People are making statements without research. I told the PCB to do their research. I have no relation with the player-agent company.”
