ZTE’s nubia brand has just revealed its latest gaming powerhouses, the Red Magic 9 Pro and Pro+, packed with top-tier specifications. These gadgets are poised to revolutionize the gaming phone scene with their cutting-edge features and strong performance.
Design and Display
Both devices are equipped with the advanced Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and feature a stylish design, including shoulder keys and RGB cooling fans. The Red Magic 9 Pro series distinguishes itself with its 6.8-inch flat AMOLED screens, supplied by BOE, providing a resolution of 1,116 x 2,480 pixels and a fluid 120Hz refresh rate. The displays are crafted to reduce eye fatigue with 2,160Hz PWM dimming and reach a maximum brightness of 1,600 nits.
Internals and Processor
The Red Magic 9 Pro is packed with 12 gigabytes of LPDDR5X RAM and offers choices between 256 gigabytes or 512 gigabytes of UFS 4.0 storage. The Pro+ version takes it up a notch with configurations of 16 gigabytes or 24 gigabytes of RAM and storage options of up to 1 terabyte. Both models feature the ICE 13 cooling system, which spans a total area of 10,182 square millimeters and is crafted to notably lower the phone’s temperature.
Cameras
In photography, both phones have a 50-megapixel primary camera with Samsung’s GN5 sensor and optical image stabilization (OIS), along with a 50-megapixel ultrawide lens. They operate on Red Magic OS 9.0, which is built on Android 14.
Battery
The Red Magic 9 Pro comes with a sizable 6,500mAh battery that can be charged rapidly with an 80W wired charging system. On the other hand, the Pro+ model is equipped with a 5,500mAh battery and supports even faster 165W fast charging. Both variants are compatible with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.3, and feature a headphone jack as well as an IR blaster.
