Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has reached out to the leadership of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI), expressing its support for Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s decision to stay in the opposition. PTI has also indicated its potential future collaboration.
Sources suggest that PTI is keen to develop a unified political strategy with Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) and explore potential avenues for collaboration.
A meeting between the leaders of PTI and JUI is expected to take place soon, focusing on enhancing parliamentary coordination.
However, JUI has voiced several concerns, raising questions about PTI’s recent political actions. JUI leaders reportedly expressed frustration over PTI’s shift in strategy following efforts related to constitutional amendments and its perceived weakness in the opposition.
JUI also raised concerns about PTI’s independent stance during the recent Chief Justice appointment, suggesting that PTI’s support could have bolstered JUI’s position and mitigated government influence over the decision.
