The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has announced the possible date for Eid ul Fitr 2024 in Pakistan.
According to the Met Office, Muslims across the country are likely to celebrate Eid on April 11. This means that Pakistanis will observe 30 fasts this year during the holy month of Ramadan.
It’s important to mention that the sacred month started on March 12 in the nation, and it’s anticipated that the Shawwal moon will be visible on April 10 (Wednesday).
In December of the previous year, the Cabinet Division released the list of holidays for the ongoing year. As per the holidays specified for Eid ul Fitr, Pakistanis are scheduled to have time off from April 10 to April 12 (spanning Wednesday to Friday).
The weekend following the Eid ul Fitr holidays will provide an extended break for many Pakistanis, offering a total of five days off.
Eid in the United Arab Emirates (UAE)
Eid ul Fitr is anticipated to start on April 10 in the UAE. Ibrahim Al Jarwan, the chairman of the board of directors of the Emirates Astronomy Society, mentioned to Gulf News that the Shawwal moon is expected to be seen on April 9. He also indicated that Ramadan will probably span 30 days.
