The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has disclosed the potential date for Eid ul Fitr 2024 in Pakistan.
As per the latest update from the Met Office, Muslims across the nation are anticipated to celebrate Eid on April 11. This signifies that Pakistanis will complete 30 fasts this year during the sacred month of Ramadan.
It’s noteworthy that Ramadan commenced on March 12 in the country, and the Shawwal moon is expected to be sighted on April 10 (Wednesday).
In December of the previous year, the Cabinet Division unveiled the list of holidays for the ongoing year. As per the announced Eid ul Fitr holidays, Pakistanis will have off days from April 10 until April 12 (Wednesday to Friday).
The subsequent weekend following the Eid ul Fitr holidays will offer an extended break for many Pakistanis, providing a total of five days off.
Eid in the United Arab Emirates (UAE)
Eid ul Fitr is projected to begin on April 10 in the UAE. According to Ibrahim Al Jarwan, the chairman of the board of directors of the Emirates Astronomy Society, the Shawwal moon is expected to be sighted on April 9, as reported by Gulf News. Jarwan further mentioned that the holy month of Ramadan is likely to span 30 days.
