Pakistani band Aur described working with Malik on a single in Urdu as “a dream come true”.
“Previously we only had a Pakistani audience, now we have people from the UK, Brazil, China… so it feels very good,” bandmate Raffey Anwar told BBC.
Zayn has sung in Urdu before. The British singer, known for his time in One Direction and his start on “The X Factor” in 2010, included Urdu lyrics in his song “Tightrope” from his 2021 album “Nobody is Listening”.
The collaboration wasn’t surprising because the British singer, who grew up in Bradford, has Pakistani heritage. His father moved to the UK from Pakistan.
