In a recent development, the Government of Punjab extended the winter vacations by an additional 9 days, pushing the reopening of schools to January 10, 2024.
However, amidst a severe cold wave, parents have expressed concerns and urged for another extension in winter holidays. Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, has responded to these requests, clarifying the current stance of the government.
Initially scheduled to resume on January 1, 2024, the reopening of schools was deferred to January 10, 2024, providing students with an extended winter break. Despite the ongoing severe cold wave prompting parents to request further extensions, the Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, emphasized that no decision has been made regarding another extension.
Chief Minister Naqvi stated that the government could consider extending winter holidays based on recommendations from the provincial education department. However, as of now, no official announcement has been made regarding any additional extension, and schools are expected to reopen on January 10, 2024.
