KARACHI – The price of petrol is expected to reach about Rs300 starting April 16 due to changes in global prices and the government’s intention to raise taxes.

Sources familiar with the development revealed that petrol rate will be increased by around Rs8 per liter.
Over the next two weeks, the price of petrol is going up to about Rs298 per liter from the current price of Rs289.40 per liter. Diesel is also expected to go up by around Rs2 per liter to about Rs284.24 per liter from its previous price of Rs282 per liter.
