KARACHI – Gold rates significant drop in Pakistan on Saturday in line with changes in international market rates.
Over the weekend, the 24 carats of yellow metal saw a drop of Rs1100 and the new price settled at Rs246,500 per tola.
Dealers say that the cost of 10 grams of pure gold has gone down by Rs943, and it’s now selling for Rs211,334. The price of 10 grams of slightly less pure gold, known as 22-karat gold, has also decreased and is now at Rs193,723.

The drop in prices is attributed to tweaks in the US Dollar rate, and international prices.
“Right now, the cost of 24-karat silver is Rs2,650. Gold prices worldwide dropped by $11, now standing at $2,344 per ounce. In Pakistan, gold rates can change a lot during the day because they’re affected by global market trends.”
Before Eid, the price of gold went up a lot in Pakistan because the international prices also went up a lot.
