Pakistan Introduces 24-Hour Passport Service for Hajj 2025 Pilgrims
A major convenience has been introduced for Hajj pilgrims planning to travel in 2025, as Pakistan has announced a new service allowing them to obtain their passports within just 24 hours.
Mustafa Jamal Qazi, Director General of Passports, revealed that special desks will be set up for Hajj applicants at all regional passport offices across Pakistan, including the headquarters. This initiative is also being extended to passport offices globally, ensuring a swift and efficient process for pilgrims applying for passports for the holy pilgrimage.
“We are establishing dedicated counters to prioritize Hajj applicants. Pilgrims will be assured of receiving their passports within 24 hours,” Qazi explained, emphasizing the streamlined process that aims to minimize delays for pilgrims during the busy Hajj season.
This new initiative is expected to offer significant relief to thousands of prospective Hajj travelers, who previously faced lengthy waiting times for passport issuance during peak season.
In addition to the expedited passport service, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has unveiled an installment payment plan for applicants under the government-run Hajj scheme for 2025. The scheme will offer two packages: the standard package (38 to 42 days) and the Short Package (20 to 25 days).
The cost for the government Hajj scheme in 2025 is estimated to range between Rs1,075,000 and Rs1,175,000, depending on the chosen package. Pilgrims opting for a sacrificial animal will need to pay an additional Rs55,000, and accommodation in Makkah will cost an extra Rs220,000 for a double-bed room or Rs75,000 for a triple-bed room.
For those applying through the government scheme, the payment process will be structured with an initial installment of Rs200,000 to be paid along with the Hajj application. This new system aims to ensure a smooth and efficient process for all Hajj pilgrims.
