KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan are once again on the rise, approaching record levels in the local bullion market. As reported by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of gold surged by Rs1,600 per tola, reaching Rs285,000.
This new rate is only Rs400 below the all-time high of Rs285,400 per tola, which was recorded last week.

The recent surge in gold prices is linked to a $16 increase in international gold rates, bringing them to $2,755 per ounce. In Pakistan, the price of 10 grams of gold rose by Rs1,372, reaching Rs244,342, or Rs24,434.20 per gram.
This marks the first price hike of the week, following a Rs900 drop in the previous trading session on Monday, which had lowered the price to Rs283,400 per tola. Meanwhile, silver prices remained steady at Rs3,350 per tola.
