LAHORE – Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) Chairman Rubina Khalid has announced an increase in the quarterly payments for families registered under the BISP Benazir Kafaalat initiative. Starting January 2025, the quarterly payment will rise by Rs 3,000, from Rs 10,500 to Rs 13,500, providing much-needed relief to marginalized families amid rising inflation.
Launched in 2008, the BISP has become the largest cash transfer program in Pakistan, aimed at reducing poverty, empowering women, and protecting vulnerable populations from the negative effects of inflation and economic challenges. The program currently supports over 9.3 million families, with plans to expand to 10 million by next year.
BISP Kafalat Payment Withdrawal Update:
To ease the process, the government has expanded the list of banks for cash withdrawals. Previously, eligible citizens could only collect payments from Habib Bank Limited (HBL), often facing long wait times. Now, families can withdraw payments from the following banks:
- Bank Al Falah
- Bank of Punjab
- Mobilink Microfinance / Jazzcash
- Telenor Microfinance Bank
- Habib Bank Limited (HBL)
- HBL Microfinance
This expansion aims to reduce waiting times and improve accessibility for eligible families.
