The prices of cooking oil and ghee have surged recently, despite a general decline in inflation across the country. According to reports, the retail price of first-grade ghee and cooking oil has risen by Rs54 per kilogram, while second and third-grade products have seen a higher increase of Rs60 per kilogram.
First-grade ghee and oil, which were previously priced at Rs505, are now being sold for Rs559. Meanwhile, second-grade ghee has gone up from Rs440 to Rs500, and second-grade oil has increased from Rs452 to Rs512 per liter.
Egg prices also on the rise
Egg prices have also experienced a small increase. In Lahore, the cost of a dozen eggs has risen by Rs2, now priced at Rs334, up from Rs332. Meanwhile, in Multan, the price has been set at Rs330 per dozen. Consumers are bracing for potential further price hikes as demand for eggs typically rises during the winter season.
