ISLAMABAD – The federal budget 2024-25 with a total outlay of Rs18,877 billion has announced with focus on increasing tax collection and support for productive sectors.
The federal government has set a goal to collect Rs12,970 billion in taxes for the next fiscal year. They plan to impose taxes on different items, including stationery.
The government has suggested a 10 percent tax on stationery, books, newsprint, and other products. If this is approved, the prices of pencils, notebooks, paper, erasers, sharpeners, pens, and similar items will increase.
Stationery items list
The list of stationary items include pens, notebooks, pencils, markers, desk accessories, staplers, punching machine, calculators, files, tape, diaries, tonners.
Expected Price of Pencils, and other Stationary Items in July 2024
If the parliament approves the 2024-25 budget, it will start in July 2024. The prices of notebooks, pencils, and other stationery items will be adjusted based on the new taxes.
If the 10% increase gets the parliament’s nod, the prices of the stationary items will be determined accordingly.
