In 2023, all major automakers, including Honda, Yamaha, and Suzuki, raised their prices due to the significant depreciation of the local currency.
Atlas Honda, in particular, increased the prices of their bikes, with some models becoming six times more expensive, making it harder for people to afford even their most basic rides.
However, with the strict measures against hoarding and administrative actions taken by the State Bank, there was a notable recovery of the rupee in the interbank market. It saw an increase of about Rs30, stabilizing at around 275. This improvement was attributed to a new economic plan, and it began to influence the prices of various goods, particularly petrol and automotive products.
A report from 24 News suggested that Honda Motorcycle reduced the prices of its top two models, the Honda CD 70 and Honda 125. According to the report, the price of the Honda CG125 special edition was decreased by Rs38,500, now priced at around 253,000. Similarly, the price of the regular edition of Honda 125 was lowered by Rs33,500, with the new price hovering around Rs2 lac.
The report also mentioned that Honda’s highly popular CD70 unit saw a reduction of Rs22,000, with the upcoming price expected to be around Rs135,900.
These revised rates were said to be effective from October 18, following the release of an official notification. When Latest News contacted a local dealer of Atlas Honda in Lahore, they did not confirm any drop in prices.
