Winter Vacations 2023: The provincial government in Punjab is set to announce winter holidays for schools due to the cold weather.
However, some local media outlets claimed that the early vacations were due to smog, but no official has confirmed this yet.
Last week, schools in certain parts of Punjab had to shut down for a three-day break due to really bad air quality. Despite the concerning conditions, classes continued on Monday.
Reliable sources say the government decided not to prolong the usual winter break, so schools and other educational places will be closed from late December to early January.
This year, it looks like the winter break will happen just like before, with schools in Punjab and other areas closing from December 24th to January 9th.
The School Education Department (SED) is expected to officially announce the winter break dates soon.
