Xiaomi revealed the 14 and 14 Pro smartphones with three 50 MP cameras, but left the Ultra member for a later announcement. As per a recent study, it is set to include four 50-megapixel cameras and a quicker f/1.6-f/4.0 adjustable opening on the primary sensor.

A variable aperture solution is nothing new to Xiaomi. The Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro have a two-step lens that can toggle between f/1.4 and f/4.0, and while the f/1.6 stop on the Ultra is slightly slower it will likely make up with a much larger sensor. It will also improve on the f/1.9 on the Xiaomi 13 Ultra.
Earlier information suggested the use of a Sony LYT-900 sensor for the primary camera of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. This speculation, coupled with a new Xiaomi function enabling the lens to adjust during video based on the amount of light reaching the sensor, has the potential to significantly enhance the camera capabilities of the Ultra.
