Matthew Perry, the late star of the popular show Friends, had a unique and special relationship with his assistant, Briana Brancato.
While there were rumors that Briana may have played a role in his split from fiancée Molly Hurwitz, Perry emphasized in his memoir ‘Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing’ that their connection was purely platonic.
Perry credited Briana with saving his life and taking care of him during a critical period. He recalled how she, whom he affectionately called ‘Erin’, stayed with him every night for five months while he was recovering in the hospital after a serious health crisis.
Despite their close bond, their relationship never turned romantic. Instead, Briana became one of Perry’s most trusted companions. Following Perry’s passing, Briana shared a touching message on social media along with pictures of them together, expressing her gratitude for the time they spent together and the experiences they shared.
Matthew Perry had been engaged to Molly Hurwitz in 2020 and praised her as “the greatest woman on the face of the planet.” However, their relationship ended after seven months. Perry explained that sometimes things just don’t work out, and he wished Molly the best.
In an interview with GQ magazine, Perry opened up about his struggles with commitment, admitting that he often ended relationships out of fear that he wasn’t enough or that he would be deemed too needy.
