There’s a message going around on social media saying that the Government will stop using the Rs. 5,000 banknote. However, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MoIB) has said that this news is not true, it’s fake.
In the fake message, it was said that starting from September 30, the Rs. 5,000 notes will not be allowed to be used, kept, or passed around in the whole country.
But the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MoIB) has clarified that this news is false and there’s no plan from the Government to stop using the Rs. 5,000 banknote.
Disseminating #FakeNews is not only unethical and illegal but it is also disservice to the nation. It is the responsibility of everyone to reject irresponsible behavior. Reject #FakeNews pic.twitter.com/bfrLn0b2Io

So, there’s no need to worry about this message, it’s not true.
