Samsung’s highly awaited Galaxy Ring was unveiled at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024. The company had already announced that they would showcase their new smart ring at the event before it began.
According to a Tomsguide, Samsung isn’t offering demos of the watch to attendees of MWC. However, they managed to get the first look at the new fitness tracker in close-up since it was announced with the Galaxy S24 series during Galaxy Unpacked in January.
The South Korean tech giant company has not made any major changes in the design of this smart ring different from other smart rings on the market but they maintained the selling point of a smart ring by giving it a slim size and sleek finish.
The ring is set to be available in three colours, black, gold and silver. In terms of width, it doesn’t look particularly thinner or thicker than the Oura Ring Gen 3, as per the report.
Samsung has given each color option its own box for the display, showing the nine available sizes ranging from 5 to 13. Getting the right size is important for comfort and accurate sensor readings. It’s not clear yet if Samsung will use a sizing method similar to Oura Ring or try something different.
The Galaxy Ring is anticipated to have functions similar to Samsung Health, which mainly tracks activities and sleep. People will use the Samsung Health app on their phones a lot to see their health information.

According to The Verge, who spoke with Samsung’s VP of Digital Health Dr. Hon Pak, Samsung’s Natural Cycles integration will extend from the Galaxy Watch to the Galaxy Ring.
The price will be really important in deciding between the Galaxy Ring and the Oura Ring. Samsung wants to keep their price competitive, while Oura Ring starts at $299 plus you need to pay every month for all the features. Samsung has hinted that they won’t charge monthly fees for fitness features.
The Galaxy Ring is said to be coming out in the summer of 2024, along with the new Galaxy Watch models. The Galaxy Ring might be introduced during a summer Unpacked event.
