LAHORE – Punjab’s interim government reveals new timings for schools as extreme weather conditions continue in the region.
A notification issued by the School Education Department confirmed an extension in the revised timings for all schools due to the cold wave sweeping in Lahore, and parts of Punjab.
The recent announcement mentioned that school classes will still begin at 9:30 am until January 31, 2024. This choice goes along with the government’s promise, led by Naqvi, not to change the start of winter holidays in schools.
Despite the delayed start of school classes, educational activities will carry on, prioritizing the students’ well-being during the chilly weather. Punjab, KP, Kashmir, and Balochistan are experiencing a significant cold wave.
Although the Punjab government opted not to prolong holidays, not everyone is happy with the decision. Some parents had requested an extension to the winter break due to the harsh cold and deteriorating air quality.
