Today, an inquest was conducted for four boys who tragically drowned during a camping vacation when their bodies were found in an overturned car.
The victims, Hugo Morris (18), Harvey Owen (16), Jevon Hirst (16), and Wilf Bark-Jones (15), were on their way to Snowdonia when the devastating incident occurred. Their remains were discovered on November 21 in a partially submerged Ford Fiesta near Tremadog, Gwynedd, North Wales.
The inquest revealed that the tentative cause of death for the four boys was drowning. The police investigation into the tragedy is currently ongoing, and the inquest will be postponed until its conclusion.
The fatal accident took place when the car veered off the A4085 on November 21, a day after the boys were reported missing. The crash is being treated as a tragic accident, according to North Wales Police Superintendent Owain Llewellyn.
Vigils have been organized in Shrewsbury to commemorate the four boys, and heartfelt tributes have poured in for the young victims. Harvey Owen was remembered as “a unique and special person who touched so many people,” while Wilf Bark-Jones’ girlfriend, Maddi Corfield, expressed her eternal love and described him as the “sweetest and most loving boy.”
A widespread search was initiated when the boys did not return home from their overnight camping trip. Witnesses recalled seeing them “laughing and joking” as they purchased supplies for their expedition in Harlech.
At this challenging time, speculation is discouraged, and compassion is emphasized over media curiosity. Condolences have been extended to the families of Wilf, Jevon, Hugo, and Harvey.
