6.2 magnitude earthquake hits northwestern Afghanistan

On Saturday, a 6.2 magnitude earthquake shook northwestern Afghanistan, as reported by the German Research Center for Geosciences.

The quake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers (6.21 miles). This event follows a 5.2 magnitude earthquake that struck Fayzabad in Afghanistan just a few months ago.
