LAHORE – According to Indian media reports, the Indian team will play their 2025 ICC Champions Trophy matches in Dubai, following the approval of the Hybrid Model by the International Cricket Council (ICC).
Originally scheduled to be solely hosted by Pakistan, the tournament will now be held across two countries. India, opting not to travel to Pakistan, will play its matches in Dubai. Under the new agreement, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will not receive additional compensation for the hybrid format but will be granted the opportunity to host an ICC Women’s tournament after 2027.
Furthermore, cricket authorities from both India and Pakistan have agreed that Pakistan’s team will not travel to India for their league-stage match in the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup, which will take place in Colombo as the tournament is co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka.
This decision marks a significant shift in the planning of major international cricket events, with both boards finding a compromise on hosting arrangements while ensuring that key fixtures continue.
