Renowned sports presenter Zainab Abbas, who was in India to cover the ICC World Cup, has reportedly left the india citing safety concerns.
This unexpected turn of events comes after an Indian lawyer lodged a complaint against her, accusing her of making derogatory remarks on social media against India and the Hindu religion.
Zainab Abbas vehemently denies these allegations and insists that she has been unfairly targeted. There are claims that her deportation from India may have been influenced by what some perceive as “Indian propaganda.”
Close sources argue that the accusations are baseless and that Zainab’s past social media activity, which has been taken out of context, should not have led to her deportation. They emphasize that these old tweets were unrelated to her role as a presenter.
The ICC, where Zainab was selected as the official presenter for the ICC Cricket World Cup, has not yet issued an official statement on the matter. It’s worth noting that the complaint against Zainab was regarding tweets posted approximately nine years ago.
These resurfaced tweets, originally under the username “Zainablovesrk” (now “ZAbbas Official”), were alleged to contain content considered “anti-Hindu” in nature. Currently, Zainab Abbas is in Dubai.
