WhatsApp, one of the most popular messaging apps, is constantly updating its features with new advancements to enhance user experience. This time the company has revised an update for its ‘Status’ feature.
The newest Android beta release, version 2.24.14.2, has revamped the status preview feature, simplifying the process of checking updates from family and friends.
What’s new?
The new feature allows the users to see a preview of status updates on the app without even clicking on them, making it easier for the users to decide whether to view the update in full or move on to the next one.
With this new update, the preview thumbnail will now appear on the right side of our screen, offering a cleaner and more visually appealing layout.
This significant move of announcing a new design marks improvements over the previous version, where status preview would obscure the profile photo, making it difficult to recognise contacts.
Users who follow channels on the app will see status updates displayed horizontally. On the other hand, users who haven’t followed any channels will view a vertical list featuring redesigned thumbnails for previews, enhancing navigation and engagement with updates.
The latest feature is currently exclusive to the Android beta version 2.24.14.2, but it is anticipated to be widely released to all users soon in the stable version.
