vivo X Fold3 and X Fold3 Pro – There have been leaks about the new vivo horizontal foldable phone, but one detail we didn’t know was the launch date. Now, a Weibo user named Panda is Bald shared some info suggesting that the new phone (or phones) will come out at the end of March.
The person leaking information suggests that the launch event for the vivo X Fold3 and its new Pro version might happen between March 26 and 28, which falls on a Tuesday to Thursday towards the end of the month. This is earlier than last year’s X Fold2 launch event, which took place on April 20, so it’s happening about a month sooner than expected.
A report form a few days ago suggests that the vivo X Fold3 Pro will become the first foldable with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, while the vanilla X Fold3 will use the older Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. That said, a different report points to a yet to be announced Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 for the Pro and a Dimensity 9300 for the vanilla version.
It’s quite possible that both reports are true – vivo has used different chips for the Chinese and international versions of phones in the past.
The vanilla vivo X Fold3 will reportedly have a triple 50MP camera: main, ultra wide and 2x tele. The Pro model will bump up the third module to a 64MP periscope (focal length unknown).
The Pro model should have fast charging of 120W when connected with a wire and 50W when charging wirelessly, just like the X Fold2. The Pro is also expected to be resistant to dust and water, which would be a first for foldable phones from vivo.
vivo might reveal new tablets called the vivo Pad 3 and Pad 3 Pro alongside their foldable phones. These tablets could use the Dimensity 9300 and Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chips to run smoothly.
