Redmi is having a big event today that began with the launch of the Redmi K70 and Redmi K70 Pro smartphones. Both have a new 50 MP main camera, fast charging and flagship chipsets.
Xiaomi furnished this smartphone with a 6.67-inch OLED display featuring a 1440p resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. The 12-bit capability allows the screen to display 68.7 billion colors and achieve a peak brightness of up to 4,000 nits, which the company asserts is the highest in the industry. Additionally, Xiaomi has created an artificial intelligence algorithm to enhance the resolution of specific video games and applications.

The Redmi K70 runs on Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 – Qualcomm’s top platform for 2022. It’s paired with 12 GB or 16 GB ofLPDDR5X RAM and between 256 GB and 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage.
The main 50 MP camera on the back features a new sensor that is 1/1.55” in size and with a f/1.6 aperture in front and OIS. There is also an 8 MP ultrawide-angle shooter and a 2 MP depth sensor.
The selfie camera boasts a 16-megapixel sensor. Although Redmi hasn’t provided detailed specifications, it’s probable that it features the identical 1/3.06-inch sensor with an f/2.5 lens found in the Redmi K60 series.

The Redmi K70 comes with a hefty 5,000 mAh battery, equipped with a rapid 120W charging feature that allows it to reach a full charge in just 18 minutes. The phone includes a separate P2 charging chip and a G1 battery management chip to enhance battery durability and overall power control.
The device also comes with a 5,000 sq.mm cooling area, including a VC, which is 10% bigger than the one in the predecessors.
The Redmi K70, belonging to the Xiaomi family, is equipped with the HyperOS based on Android 14 from the start. It includes NFC, Bluetooth 5.3, and a dual nano-SIM slot, but it does not have a microSD slot and a 3.5 mm audio jack.
The Redmi K70 is set to be available for purchase on December 1 at 10 AM in China. You can choose from colors like White, Black, Moonstone Blue, and Violet. The prices begin at CNY2,499 ($350/€320) for the 12/256 GB model and go up to CNY3,399 ($480/€435) for the most powerful 16 GB/1 TB version.
Redmi K70 Pro
The Redmi K70 Pro features a 6.67-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 1440p, created in collaboration with TCL.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset is one of the key upgrades compared to the vanilla K70.
The primary camera on the Pro version aligns with the Redmi K70’s 50 MP sensor, equipped with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). The Pro variant enhances the game by incorporating a 50 MP dedicated telephoto camera featuring 2x optical zoom and a more powerful 12 MP ultrawide lens. The front-facing camera maintains a 16 MP sensor for selfies.
The 5,000 mAh battery has 120W charging with the same promise of a full charge in 18 minutes.
The Redmi K70 Pro is available in three different shades – Ebony, Ivory, and Sapphire. The cost varies based on the storage capacity: CNY3,299 ($465/€420) for 12/256 GB, CNY3,599 ($505/€460) for 16/256 GB, CNY3,899 ($550/€500) for 16/512 GB, and CNY4,399 ($620/€565) for 24 GB RAM and 1 TB storage.
