As WhatsApp continues to enhance its application, a novel feature is being introduced on the instant messaging platform specifically for iOS users.
WhatsApp has just submitted a new update, with which comes the feature to allow channel owners to invite new admins, WABetaInfo reported.

The functionality was initially said to be under development for the Android edition of the application. However, the most recent update of WhatsApp for iOS unveiled that the capability to appoint additional administrators to channels is currently being introduced to certain beta testers on iPhones.
The enhancement has been designed to grant channel owners advanced administrative control and improved delegation capabilities.
This image provides insight into a novel functionality where beta testers might observe a fresh “Invite Admins” attribute within the channel information interface.
By choosing this option, the channel owners will be able to assign administrative privileges to selected contacts for their channels, with the flexibility to invite up to 15 contacts for the role of admin.
However, the designated contact must accept the invitation before obtaining administrative access to the channel.
After accepting the invite, the new admins will have the ability to modify essential channel details, including the name, icon, and description, the WhatsApp news tracker said.
Additionally, those in charge of the channel have the ability to modify the channel’s configurations, overseeing the emojis that are allowed for reactions within the channel.
As per WABetaInfo, the update extends beyond administrative tasks, allowing admins to actively contribute to the channel’s content creation.
“They have the ability to generate and share content while also managing channel updates, whether their own or those shared by other admins, by editing or deleting them.”
Certainly, it’s important to highlight that new administrators have certain restrictions in their abilities. Specifically, they lack the authority to appoint or dismiss fellow administrators and are unable to erase the entire channel.
