In an effort to compete with TikTok, Instagram wants to lengthen the length of its video Reels. Reels will soon be able to last up to 10 minutes, according to smartphone developer and tipper Alessandro Paluzzi.
He also shared screenshots of this upcoming update, showing a side-by-side comparison of the current 3-minute limitation for Reels as well as the new 10-minute duration.

Although Meta and Instagram have not yet provided an official response, there is a good likelihood that we will eventually get this feature considering Paluzzi’s track record for leaks. Additionally, we are aware that contemporary rival apps quickly introduce competing functionality.
By increasing the length of Instagram Reels to 10 minutes, they will be more comparable to many YouTube and TikTok videos, which also just received a time limit upgrade. In order to give fans longer films from their favorite content creators, TikTok even added 20-minute videos to the platform, although they are only available to paying customers.
On the other hand, YouTube has been concentrating on expanding its short-form content. Additionally, during this year, the massive provider of online video services began monetizing YouTube Shorts more.
Reels are currently being updated by Instagram to increase engagement. The features of TikTok, such as the editing tools and templates to help you generate viral content, have been the direct cause of many of these improvements.
