The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) agreed to form a government together. During a joint press conference, Asif Ali Zardari jokingly referred to Bilawal Bhutto as his “prince charming.”
During Tuesday’s press conference held in Islamabad, Zardari, who was seen seated with Bilawal and PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif on either side placed his hand on the PPP chairman’s shoulder and called him “prince charming” and addressed Shehbaz as “my brother (bhai)”.
Zardari made these remarks during a tense political situation where the two parties were discussing forming a government. They decided to collaborate, with the PML-N receiving the position of prime minister and the PPP co-chairman being chosen as the joint candidate for the president’s office.
The remarks seemingly caught Bilawal off guard who can be seen smirking on his father’s comments.
However, Bilawal is not the only one who reacted this way as netizens are seemingly also amused by Zardari’s remarks.
Prominent lawyer Reema Omar termed Bilawal’s spontaneous reaction to being called “mera prince charming” by his father “relatable”.
“Pakistani parents will be Pakistani parents, no matter who they are or what they do,” said another.
Meanwhile, another social media user said: “We all know this feeling.”
