The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has made it clear that all banknotes, including commemorative ones, hold legal value throughout Pakistan for the stated amount and are backed by the Federal Government’s guarantee.
The SBP has formally announced that the Rs75 banknote (predominantly green) issued on August 14, 2022, to mark the 75th anniversary of Pakistan’s Independence, as well as the Rs75 banknote (predominantly blue) released on July 04, 2023, commemorating 75 years of SBP’s establishment, are recognized as legal tender across the country.
These banknotes can be used for any kind of financial transaction, whether it’s for private or public obligations.
Both the SBP and all commercial banks are mandated to distribute and accept these banknotes from the public.
