The Director General of Immigration and Passports (DGIP) has extended the time it takes to deliver passports due to a surge in applications. Many Pakistanis are facing challenges in traveling abroad due to the current economic conditions in the country.
Previously, regular passport delivery took up to 10 days, while urgent ones took four days and fast-track only two.
Now, in the latest update, regular passport delivery will take up to 21 working days, while urgent passport processing will take five days. There’s no change in the delivery time for the fast track category.
The DGIP has also emphasized the importance of sticking to the designated office hours, as applications will not be accepted after closing time. Passport offices are open from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm from Monday to Thursday, and from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm on Fridays across the country.
