Even though Christmas and Quaid-e-Azam Day are still a few days away on December 25th, some people might already be curious about the public holidays coming up this month.
In a notice from the government in early 2023 titled ‘Public and Optional Holidays for the Year 2023,’ the information lays out the public and optional holidays designated for both Muslim and minority festivals in Pakistan for the entire year 2023.
As per the notification issued by the Government of Pakistan, December 25, 2023, will be observed as a public holiday in commemoration of Quaid-e-Azam Day and Christmas.
The notification specifies that Monday, December 25th, will be a public holiday across Pakistan.
The day after Quaid-e-Azam Day and Christmas, specifically Tuesday, December 26, will be observed as a special holiday for Christians. This is because it falls immediately after Christmas.
As a result, this setup means that Christians in Pakistan will have two back-to-back days off in the final week of this current month of December.
