Pakistan Railways has revealed that all freight rates will be increased by 5 percent across the board, effective from 12 AM on 2 September 2023.
Pakistan Railways has announced that there will be a price hike for transporting goods, affecting all freight shipments except for Cargo Express 501Up / 502 Dn and 503-Up/504-Dn, which will remain unaffected by this increase. The total freight cost will still be rounded off as usual.
Traffic inspectors and other relevant officials have been told to make sure that all railway station staff follow these instructions closely.
Additionally, a new table with updated rates for shipping goods, which displays the cost per ton for distances of up to 5,000 kilometers, is in the process of being created.
This table will be distributed to all stations that handle goods bookings through the Divisional Superintendents.
