Multan Electric Power Company Limited (Mepco) is a publicly listed company established in May 1998, in alignment with the government’s strategy to unbundle and corporatize the power sector in Pakistan.
Mepco holds the distinction of being the largest power distribution company in the country. It operates exclusively in 13 administrative districts of southern Punjab, covering areas such as Multan, Muzaffargarh, Layyah, D.G.Khan, Rajanpur, Lodhran, Bahawalpur, R.Y.Khan, Khanewal, Sahiwal, Pakpattan, Vehari, and Bahawalnagar.
Given that Mepco’s service area is primarily rural, the majority of its customers fall into the domestic category, with a significant portion being life line customers.
