Following her appointment as the Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz wasted no time in unveiling a range of initiatives aimed at providing relief to the underprivileged sections of society, with the ‘Roshan Gharana Program‘ standing out among them.
Under this groundbreaking initiative, more than 50,000 households across the province will receive free solar panels, with a substantial budget allocation of Rs 12.6 billion.
Pioneered by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the ‘Roshan Gharana Program’ signifies a significant stride towards fostering sustainable living practices. This initiative endeavors to equip 50,000 households throughout Punjab with cutting-edge solar systems, ushering in a new era in the province’s energy landscape.
Eligibility Criteria
In the program’s initial phase, beneficiaries, particularly those with monthly electricity consumption of up to 100 units, will be selected through a lottery system. The solar package encompasses state-of-the-art solar panels, inverters, batteries, and more.
Financial Assistance
Beyond the provision of free solar panels, the program extends financing options to cater to various needs such as property acquisition, construction, renovation, and land procurement. Participants can avail themselves of equitable monthly installment plans, with flexible financing durations ranging from 3 to 25 years.
Financial assistance covers up to 85% of the property value for purchase and construction, and up to 30% for renovation.
Application Process
Both salaried and non-salaried individuals are eligible to apply for the program, provided they meet specific criteria. Salaried applicants must furnish a valid NICOP and a Non-Resident RDA account, along with evidence of at least two years of uninterrupted employment. Non-salaried applicants are required to possess a valid NICOP, a Non-Resident RDA account, and demonstrate at least two years of continuous business operation.
Registration Process
To enroll in the ‘Roshan Gharana Program’, applicants must complete an online form, submit requisite documents, and finalize their application. Necessary documents include passport-sized colored photographs, a copy of the NICOP, bank statements, and evidence of property allotment, transfer, or title.
