The caretaker government of Balochistan has decided to shut down schools throughout the province because heavy rains have caused damage in various areas.
In a notification issued on Friday, the provincial government announced that schools across Balochistan will be closed for a week.
It’s important to mention that the recent heavy rains have caused extensive damage in various areas of the province, such as Gwadar, Chaman, Kech, and other places.
It should be noted that the coastal city of Gwadar made headlines as it shattered previous rainfall records with an unprecedented downpour of 168mm in a single event. The previous record during February within a 24-hour period was 38mm of rainfall.
Meanwhile, the education department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has declared that all schools in Swat will be closed from March 1 to March 9. The district administration has also sent out a notification about this decision.
