After Accepting his defeat in the presidential election 2024 against Asif Ali Zardari, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) backed Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) candidate Mahmood Khan Achakzai said that the country witnessed a “rare” electoral event for the coveted post held “without horse-trading”.
The candidate supported by the ruling coalition and nominated by the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Asif Ali Zardari, won the presidency of Pakistan for the second time with a large majority on Saturday, making history.
Achakzai told reporters after the presidential election that it was a special election where “horse-trading” didn’t happen. He mentioned it marked the start of a new time because it was the first time in Pakistan that such an election occurred in a positive atmosphere without lawmakers exchanging their votes.
