Petrol Pumps Shutdown – The Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association (PPDA) has warned that they will close petrol stations across the country on Friday, July 5, if the advance tax included in the Finance Bill 2024 is not removed.
PPDA Chairman Abdul Sami Khan expressed serious concerns about the new 0.5 percent advance tax on petroleum dealers in the latest finance bill. He argued that this tax would make it very difficult for petrol pump businesses to survive. He urged the government to reconsider and remove the tax right away. He also warned that if the tax isn’t removed, the association will close down operations nationwide.
